Short-Term Accommodation (STA)
At Ballarat Support Services, our Short-Term Accommodation (STA) offers more than just a place to stay — it’s a chance to rest, recharge and reset in a safe, familiar environment.
Whether you’re a participant wanting time away from home, or a carer needing a well-earned break, we make every stay calm, structured and meaningful.
We understand that change can sometimes be challenging, which is why we take time to get to know each participant before their stay. From favourite meals to morning routines, we build your respite around comfort and familiarity — so it feels like an extension of your own home.
Our experienced, caring staff provide 24/7 support, helping with daily living tasks, personal care, meals, and community access. Each stay is fully supervised and focused on keeping things consistent, safe and positive. Families receive regular updates and can relax knowing their loved one is settled, happy, and in good hands.

What is STA?
STA is short-term, flexible support designed for participants who need a temporary stay away from home. It can be planned in advance or arranged at short notice when carers require immediate help.
Stays can range from a single night to a full week, and are available across different settings — in-home, in our hub environments, or in comfortable local accommodation arranged by our team.
Every STA experience is tailored — from routines and meal preferences to activities and supports — ensuring the participant feels safe, valued and cared for throughout their stay.

-
Join community outings, appointments or group events
-
Learn and practice independence skills in a supportive setting
-
Relax, rest and have fun in a home-like environment
Whether it’s cooking dinner together, visiting local attractions, or enjoying downtime with a movie, each day is flexible and built around the participant’s comfort and choice.
