Our Accessible Transport service is more than just getting from A to B — it’s 1:1 Community Participation designed to keep you connected and confident in your community.


We provide safe, reliable, and comfortable travel across Ballarat and surrounding areas, with trained staff who support you throughout your journey — not just the drive.

Whether you’re heading to a medical appointment, meeting friends, joining a group program, or enjoying a day out, our team makes travel easy, inclusive, and enjoyable.

What You Can Expect

Accessible Transport at Ballarat Support Services is a 1:1 support service under Community Participation, tailored for people who use wheelchairs or have mobility needs.


Each trip is supported by a familiar, caring staff member who assists with transfers, accessibility requirements, and companionship along the way.

Our vehicles are fully equipped with:

  • Hydraulic lifts and secure wheelchair restraints

  • Comfortable seating and climate control

  • Safety checks and maintenance completed regularly

We can provide wait-and-return transport for short appointments, or ongoing travel support for participants who need regular community access.

What You Can Do

​With 1:1 Accessible Transport, you can:

  • Travel safely to appointments, therapy sessions or work

  • Visit shops, cafés, or local events as part of your CP goals

  • Attend social or recreational outings with trusted staff

  • Join other BSS programs and activities around Ballarat

  • Build confidence in travel and independence skills at your pace

We also support planning and communication — helping you prepare for your trip, manage timing, and feel calm and in control throughout.
Every experience is tailored to you — flexible, respectful, and person-centred.

Who is it for?

This service is perfect for:

  • NDIS participants needing 1:1 mobility or community access support

  • People who use wheelchairs or mobility aids and prefer assisted travel

  • Participants working on independence, communication or life-skills goals

  • Anyone wanting to stay active and connected in their community with the right level of support

We welcome self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants, and can discuss NDIA-managed options upon request.
