What is Community Participation?

Community Participation is your chance to get involved in the things that matter to you — with the support of a worker who’s there just for you.

Whether it’s building independence, learning new skills, or simply enjoying time out in the community, our 1:1 supports are flexible and tailored to your goals.

With consistent staff who know you well, you’ll always feel comfortable, supported, and in control of how your day looks.

What You Can Do

With 1:1 Community Participation supports, you can shape your day the way you want.

 

That might mean:

  • Practising independence skills like travel training, shopping, or money handling

  • Staying active with walking, swimming, or fitness sessions

  • Exploring new hobbies or activities in your local area

  • Volunteering at a community group or charity

  • Joining a club, art class, or social group

  • Attending festivals, events, and cultural celebrations in Ballarat and beyond

How It Works

Getting started with Community Participation is simple:

  1. Meet & Greet — We get to know you, your interests, and your goals.

  2. Plan Together — Choose activities and skills you’d like to focus on.

  3. Head Out — Enjoy 1:1 support that’s flexible, personal, and centred on you.
