Our Sunday adventure kicked off with everyone meeting at the bus. Matt Allen, Oska, and Kaden joined me, while Taylah picked up Amanda, and Ryan brought along Graeme and Brendan. We made a quick stop at Rockbank to pick up Chloe and stretch our legs before continuing the journey.
The bus ride was full of different moods – Oska and Kaden were entertained with videos, Brendan mixed in some friendly chats with Ryan and Amanda, Matt had a nap, and Graeme preferred some quiet time. Chloe settled in with Amanda, and the two enjoyed a good chat on the way.
We arrived at Marvel Stadium around 2:50pm, just in time for the big clash between the Bulldogs and Fremantle. Spirits were high, especially for Chloe and Amanda, both keen Bulldogs supporters. Once seated, we tucked into our salad rolls for lunch and then soaked up the incredible atmosphere as the game kicked off. The noise was electric, but everyone handled it well and really got into the action – the Sanders boys and Chloe cheered loudly, while Amanda enjoyed chatting footy with Ryan and Matt. Taylah sat with Graeme and Brendan, who both joined in with the cheering throughout.
Even though the Bulldogs went down, the group still enjoyed the excitement of the game. Chloe ducked off early to catch the train home once it became clear her team wasn’t getting up. Fremantle’s win actually made leaving a bit smoother, with many Bulldogs fans clearing out early.
The trip home was much quieter, with a few naps taken along the way, and drop-offs were completed between 7:45 and 8:15pm. It was a big day out, filled with footy, fun, and plenty of memories made together.
